Researchers interested in consulting archives, or contacting an archivist regarding remote assistance, should register via the access form.

Advanced appointments to access archival collections are to be set up via the access form. Additional requests may be placed by phone (516) 883-4400, x1409.

Division staff will determine which materials can be made available for use and when surrogates must be used in lieu of originals.

Please inform the LHC of your intentions to publish, or cite materials from the collections by specifying the item(s) cited and the title, publisher, publication date of the impending work.

Manuscript collections and archival records may contain materials with sensitive or confidential information. Researchers are advised that the disclosure of certain information pertaining to identifiable living individuals without the consent of those individuals may have legal ramifications.

Researchers are reminded that it is their obligation to comply with copyright law or other use restrictions when publishing or otherwise using materials from the Library’s collections.

Any requests for duplication of materials are at the discretion of the Archivist and will only be considered via one of the LHC permission forms. Fees for duplicating materials may apply.
